I have found that Leading Lady bras run very big in cup size.  A 46A bra is bigger than a Playtex 46B cup, about a C cup in size. So if you buy Leading Lady keep that in mind.

It's always recommended to try on a bra before purchasing it.  If you buy on-line, find a local shop that sells the same style and try it on there before you buy.

If you are a bit shy to ask to use the fitting room, you can always buy the bra, put it in your coat pocket, then go into the men's fitting room with a few mens shirts and try the bra on.  If it doesn't fit, just go to the counter and exchange it or get a refund.  If questioned, simply say you bought it for your wife/girlfriend and just learned it is the wrong style or size.

Because transgender issues have become somewhat common in the news, I bet almost all stores that sell womens clothes and especially lingerie, have a policy if a man asks to use a fitting room to try on womens apparel.  Not to suggest that all will be accomodating, but I'm sure the SA will not be shocked and will be discreet if you ask.  That's my experience, anyway.

Good advice but my personal problem is that stores rarely carry a 46B bra so I end up mail ordering. The only reason I have a couple too big bras now is that I didn't have the chance to send them back.
